The first thing that comes to mind is the Roman aqueducts. Even though the arch was invented long before the Romans began building aqueducts, they were the first to implement it into something completely different than as doors or windows. The aqueducts brought in water from many miles away bringing fresh water directly into the city, also it was used as a way to remove waste by carrying sewage away from the city. I feel this was an important invention because it’s the foundation of modern plumbing/sewage. In my opinion I believe this to be an invention that changed the lives of the Roman culture dramatically, because instead of having to go out and get water they had water brought straight to them, which in turn freed up their time giving the Roman people more time to get into politics.
