How do you feel about expending limited resources on those who are not U.S. citizens and live in other countries when they cannot afford their care?

  1. How do you feel about expending limited resources on those who are not U.S. citizens and live in other countries when they cannot afford their care? Do you agree with Becky or the other nurses? Why?
I think the children and the veterans who are unable to get quality, efficient health care in the United States should have this privilege more than some U.S citizens do, not all, with most of us taking our health for granted; and our bodies for that matter. As for me, Tom is a child and it is not his sin that he was born in the poverty, so if a hospital and physician will do his procedure for free that is great. Yes, I understand Becky to an extent, but I also care for children, and for their wellbeing.
  2. Should the hospital concentrate on allocating its resources to U.S. citizens, the population for which they are most responsible?
The hospital should also target sometimes to offer free services to some of the U.S citizens who have not been able to access the hospitals’ services. Again, as I pointed there should be some conditions where the need is for instance a child or a veteran who served his/her time to defend our Country.
  3. What ethical principles are involved in limiting care to foreign nationals without insurance? What if they did have insurance or a source of funding that could pay for their care?
The ethical principle involved in this case is justice as we should fairly distribute health care services and resources and equally as well (Varkey B., 2021). If they could get insurance to pay for it, I am very sure that they will also struggle to sustain their care they get little or no resources in most Countries.
