I believe the value of studying humanities in a business or technical curriculum, is that it gives us a better understanding of what things were like in the past and how things were done. Such as how business was done without the use of advanced technology, or the way business shaped technology. It also gives us information on how different cultures do business and shaped technology, much like you can see today in cultures such as America and Japan. I think a topic such as ancient art can enhance contemporary life by giving us a better understanding of where art came from and how it shaped over the years. It also gives us a better understanding of design when and if we decide to design something with an artistical value.
