“Article 2 of the UCC applies to transactions in goods [UCC 2–102]” (Cheesman, 2007, p. 249). A sale consists of the transfer of title or ownership of an item to another for a price. Sales are conducted in our daily life. Purchasing gas, groceries, etc. are sales. In addition, purchasing a large item such as a car, or computer also fall under Article 2. Article 2 covers all tangible things that are moveable. Real estate is not a tangible item since it cannot be moved. All sales of tangible goods are covered under Article 2 regardless if paid for by cash, credit card, or another form of consideration.
Louisiana is the only state that has not adopted a version of Article 2.
